In a shocking development in the Mahalakshmi murder case, the prime accused, Mukthirajan, has died by suicide before he could be apprehended by the police. The incident occurred in Bhadrak, Odisha, where a team from the Bangalore Police had arrived to investigate the brutal murder of a woman in Bengaluru. The Bhadrak police, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Guntupalli, confirmed the unfortunate turn of events.

Bangalore Police Investigation

According to SP Varun Guntupalli, the Bangalore Police had reached Bhadrak in search of Mukthirajan, who was believed to be the prime suspect in the murder case. Mahalakshmi, the victim, was found dead in Bengaluru, and the investigation quickly led the authorities to Bhadrak, where Mukthirajan was said to be hiding.

SP Guntupalli stated, “A team of Bangalore Police had come here to probe the recent murder of a woman there. The team said that the prime accused belonged to Bhadrak.” However, before the police could apprehend him, Mukthirajan allegedly died by suicide, leaving behind more questions than answers.

Suicide and Discovery of the Note

Mukthirajan’s suicide occurred under tragic circumstances. He is said to have hanged himself, and his body was found before the Bangalore Police could take him into custody. The Bhadrak police responded swiftly, conducting an investigation into the death and cooperating with their Bengaluru counterparts to ensure a thorough probe into the events surrounding his suicide.

“Before the team could apprehend the accused, Mukthirajan died by suicide by hanging himself. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the accused’s family,” SP Guntupalli explained. The body was returned to his family following the completion of the post-mortem examination.

Suicide Note Confession

Perhaps the most significant revelation came with the discovery of a suicide note left by Mukthirajan. In the note, he reportedly confessed to committing the murder of Mahalakshmi, thus providing crucial evidence to the investigating officers. This admission has added weight to the ongoing investigation and further confirmed the role of Mukthirajan in the crime.

“A suicide note has been found in which he has admitted to committing the murder,” SP Guntupalli revealed. The note is expected to be a vital piece of evidence as both the Bhadrak and Bangalore police work together to close the case.

Cooperation Between Police Forces

The Mahalakshmi murder case has garnered significant attention, and the latest development has intensified public interest. The Bhadrak police, led by SP Guntupalli, have assured that they are fully cooperating with the Bangalore Police to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly investigated. The tragic death of Mukthirajan has complicated the investigation, but the authorities remain determined to uncover the full truth behind the murder.

While the suicide of the prime accused has brought an unexpected twist to the Mahalakshmi murder case, the investigation continues as the authorities piece together the events leading up to the crime. The confession found in Mukthirajan’s suicide note may provide some closure, but the collaboration between the Bhadrak and Bangalore police is expected to be crucial in concluding the case.
