The Parliament ID of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra was logged in not only from Dubai but also from Delhi, Bangalore and New Jersey, USA. Sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have said that Moitra's login credentials were also used from New Jersey and Bangalore, while she was in Kolkata and then Delhi on the same day. Moitra herself has admitted that she had given the password to businessman Darshan Hiranandani. Sources said that on October 29, 2019, Moitra's account was logged in from Dubai and shortly after from Bangalore. Even on January 15, 2021, multiple logins were made at Parliament House in Delhi, Kolkata, New Jersey.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday alleged that people like Mahua Moitra and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim are favorites of Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee. In fact, Banerjee had said a day earlier that the expulsion of party MP Moitra from the Lok Sabha would only increase her popularity. Nishikant said that Mamta likes people like Mahua and Dawood. If Dawood contests from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, there is 99 percent chance that he will win the election.
