Details of the Incident
SDPO of Barh, Abhishek Singh, provided details about the tragic event. He stated that six people lost their lives in a road accident on NH-31 in Bakhtiyarpur early in the morning. The injured were immediately taken to a local hospital by the police team. Out of the injured, five individuals are currently undergoing treatment. The incident is under investigation, with authorities analyzing CCTV footage, forensic evidence, and other technical data. Following initial medical aid at the local hospital, all severely injured persons were referred to Patna for advanced treatment. According to reports, the victims were traveling from Khaira in the Narhat police station area of Nawada to Umanath temple in Barh in a Scorpio vehicle for a child’s head-shaving ceremony. The accident occurred around 2:30 AM.
Fatalities and Injuries
Information from the incident reveals that approximately 12 people were traveling from Hamidpur Bara in Nawada district to attend the Umanath Mundan program in Barh. They were in two vehicles, a Scorpio and a Bolero. The speeding Scorpio collided with an unidentified vehicle from behind near Mansarovar Petrol Pump in Bakhtiyarpur. This collision resulted in the immediate death of four people inside the Scorpio. The remaining passengers were rushed to the government hospital, where two more succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Among the deceased, four were women and two were men. Currently, the police are focused on transporting the injured to Patna for further medical care.
