Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticizes the BJP government for its lack of development in the past 10 years, questioning the quality of projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in a fiery speech, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the government’s achievements over the past decade. Speaking at a recent event, Kharge specifically criticized the BJP’s focus on inaugurations while raising concerns about the quality of key infrastructure projects across the country.

Kharge Questions the Ram Mandir Inauguration

One of Kharge’s main points of criticism was the much-anticipated Ram Mandir inauguration, which took place earlier this year. Referring to reports of water leakage inside the temple, Kharge said, “The Ram Mandir was inaugurated with much fanfare, but water is already dripping from it. This reflects the poor planning and hurried construction that has been the hallmark of many projects under the BJP.”

The Congress leader’s remarks come at a time when the Ram Mandir is seen as one of the BJP’s most significant achievements. However, Kharge argued that the temple’s issues are symbolic of a broader problem of poor execution and planning in the government’s infrastructure projects.

Bridge Inaugurations and Collapses

In his continued critique of the BJP’s governance, Kharge also highlighted the issue of bridges collapsing soon after their inaugurations. “Wherever a bridge was inaugurated by the BJP, it seems like the bridge has fallen shortly after. This raises serious concerns about the quality of the infrastructure being built under this government,” Kharge stated.

Over the past few years, several bridge collapses across the country have raised questions about the safety and durability of government-funded infrastructure projects. Kharge’s comments were aimed at drawing attention to these incidents, suggesting that the government is more focused on the ceremonial aspect of inaugurations rather than ensuring long-lasting, safe constructions.

Criticism of Prime Minister Modi’s Frequent Inaugurations

Kharge also took a direct jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is often seen presiding over high-profile inaugurations of various projects. He questioned whether the frequent inaugurations were being conducted to genuinely benefit the public or merely as a political strategy to enhance the BJP’s image. “Modi sahab is always inaugurating things, and people say it’s an inauguration by sacred hands. But I’m not sure if those hands are truly sacred or not,” Kharge said sarcastically.

The Congress President’s remarks suggest that the focus on grand inaugurations is not being matched by substantive progress on the ground. His comments highlight a growing narrative within opposition circles that the Modi government is more concerned with optics than actual governance and development.

Political Landscape Heats Up

As India prepares for the upcoming elections, the political discourse is intensifying, with both the Congress and BJP sharpening their rhetoric. Kharge’s criticism is part of a broader strategy by the opposition to challenge the BJP’s claims of development and progress during its tenure. By focusing on incidents like the collapse of newly inaugurated bridges and the issues with the Ram Mandir, the Congress is attempting to shift the narrative toward governance failures.

In response to Kharge’s criticism, BJP leaders have defended their government’s record, pointing to the numerous infrastructure projects completed under Modi’s leadership and accusing the Congress of trying to undermine these achievements for political gain.

With elections on the horizon, the war of words between the ruling BJP and opposition parties like Congress is expected to continue escalating, with infrastructure and development projects remaining a key battleground.
