Mother Dairy has cut the maximum retail price (MRP) of Dhara edible oils by Rs 10 per liter based on global cues. Stocks with the new rates will be available in the market from next week. The company said the cut in MRP is in line with the fall in prices of edible oils in the global market. Cooking oils are generally sold by retailers at a lower price than the MRP printed on the oils/packets.
The government had asked to cut the MRP of edible oils by Rs 8-12 per liter
Last week, the Center had directed edible oil industry bodies to advise their members to reduce the MRP of major edible oils by Rs 8-12 per liter with immediate effect. Due to continuous fall in edible oil prices and better availability of domestic crops like Mustard, the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of all variants of Dhara Edible Oils is being reduced by Rs 10 per litre." A company spokesperson said the stock with the revised MRP is expected to hit the market within a week.
Here are the new prices
The new rate of Dhara Refined Soybean Oil will be Rs 140 per litre, while the MRP of Dhara Refined Rice Bran Oil has been reduced to Rs 160 per litre.
