Regarding the protests against the statements made by former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, 'We have looked into the news and hope that the situation will be dealt with properly. .' He said that it is necessary to give up pride and prejudice and everyone should respect each other's religions. This statement of Wang has been posted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The remarks of the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson came a day after Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's visit to China. According to official media reports, General Bajwa held talks with China's Central Military Commission (CMC) vice-chairman General Zhang Yuxiao in Qingdao city on Sunday.

MEA had clarified the stand of the government

Significantly, on June 5, the BJP suspended its national spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled its Delhi unit's media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal from the party for making statements on Prophet Mohammad. Meanwhile, the party had issued a statement aimed at addressing the concerns of minorities, saying that it respects all religions.

The Ministry of External Affairs also clarified on this issue, saying that India gives the highest respect to all religions and the statements of the leaders have nothing to do with the government. The MEA spokesperson said last week that the objectionable tweets and statements defaming a religious personality were made by some people. He had said that they do not reflect the views of the Government of India in any form and the party concerned has already taken strict action against these persons.

Significantly, China is facing serious allegations of large-scale crackdown against Uighur Muslims in its Xinjiang province. However, China has been denying these allegations. But now at the behest of Pakistan, he has started trying to defame India
