Now another bridge has sunk; Disaster management started on Mechi river between Katihar-Kishanganj
The news of bridge collapse keeps on coming in Bihar. After the collapse of the under-construction bridge between Bhagalpur-Khagaria, now such danger is visible on the under-construction bridge of Mechi river between Katihar-Kishanganj. The collapse is visible from the top of the bridge itself. The team has gathered for the rescue work.
Due to the sinking of the foundation of the bridge under construction near Gori village on National Highway- 327E, people from nearby areas are watching it. Cracks have started appearing in the upper part of the bridge.
The base on which the bridge rests has sunk in at one place. Due to this, the middle part of the bridge which is almost ready is looking tilted. The bridge is being constructed by GR Infra Company. This bridge is an important part of the road widening project between Galgaliya and Araria-Katihar in Kishanganj. This bridge has six spans. There was preparation for its inauguration in a few days, but now seeing the latest situation, questions are being raised on the quality of construction.
