On the lines of AIIMS Bhopal, now medicines will be delivered through drones in Kashi also. Preparations are underway to start the facility of delivering medicines by drone in IMS BHU. After the launch of this facility, it will take only 35 to 40 minutes for the medicine to reach the health center running in Barkachha Campus, about 75 kilometers away from BHU. IMS BHU will be the first medical college in Purvanchal to start such a facility.
Apart from BHU Hospital and Trauma Centre, there are separate health centers for employees and students in the university campus itself. There is also a health center at Barkachha Campus and Central Hindu Girls School Kamchha. Medicines are sent by vehicles in OPDs and other emergencies, including those running at these health centers away from the BHU campus. It takes two to three hours in Barkachha campus. Keeping this in view, the IMS administration has decided to start drone service.
Drone station will be built like AIIMS Bhopal
On the initiative of the Union Health Ministry, a drone station has also been built in AIIMS Bhopal for the purpose of delivering medicines by drone. In the first week of January, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also virtually inaugurated the drone station at AIIMS Bhopal. In the coming days, like AIIMS Bhopal, a drone station will also be built in IMS BHU.
