Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches BJP’s Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024, reminiscing the days of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the significance of the lotus symbol.

In a rousing speech at the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a moment to reflect on the party’s humble beginnings and the symbolic significance of the lotus, now the iconic emblem of the BJP. The event, held in Delhi on Monday, marked the beginning of the party’s membership drive and organizational expansion ahead of the upcoming elections.

Reminiscing the Days of Bharatiya Jana Sangh

Prime Minister Modi, known for his evocative oratory, transported the audience back to the era of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the BJP’s precursor. He shared a nostalgic anecdote from those early days, when party workers would enthusiastically paint ‘diyas’—the party symbol at the time—on walls across the country.

“During the time of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, party workers used to paint ‘diyas’, the then symbol of the party, on walls with a lot of enthusiasm,” said Modi. He recalled how other political leaders would often mock these efforts, suggesting that such activities would not translate into electoral success. “Other party leaders used to make fun, saying that it wouldn’t help us in coming to power,” Modi remarked, highlighting the skepticism the Bharatiya Jana Sangh faced during its formative years.

The Symbolism of the Lotus

Despite the ridicule, Modi emphasized that the party’s dedicated workers remained undeterred. He drew a powerful metaphorical connection between the act of painting the party’s symbol on walls and the eventual embedding of the BJP’s ideals in the hearts of the Indian people. “We are those people who painted the lotus on walls with so much focus that we believed someday this lotus will get painted in the hearts of the people,” Modi stated, underscoring the deep-seated conviction that has driven the party’s growth over the decades.

The lotus, which eventually replaced the ‘diya’ as the BJP’s symbol, has since become synonymous with the party’s identity and ideology. It represents purity, resilience, and spiritual enlightenment—values that the BJP aims to embody as it continues to expand its influence across the nation.

Sanghatan Parva and Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024

The Sanghatan Parva, or Organization Festival, and the Sadasyata Abhiyan, or Membership Drive, are crucial components of the BJP’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence ahead of the 2024 general elections. The launch event saw enthusiastic participation from party workers and leaders, all geared towards expanding the party’s base and reinforcing its organizational structure.

Prime Minister Modi urged the attendees to channel the same enthusiasm and dedication that characterized the early days of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh into the current membership drive. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to every section of society, ensuring that the party’s message resonates with people from all walks of life.

Looking Forward

As the BJP gears up for the 2024 elections, the Sanghatan Parva and Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024 will play a pivotal role in mobilizing support and fortifying the party’s position across India. Modi’s reflections on the party’s journey from its humble beginnings to its current status as a political powerhouse serve as a reminder of the power of perseverance and belief in a cause.

In his concluding remarks, Modi reiterated his confidence in the BJP’s future, stating, “The lotus, which once bloomed on the walls, has now blossomed in the hearts of the people. With continued dedication and hard work, we will ensure it flourishes further, bringing prosperity and progress to the nation.”
