The Punjab-Haryana High Court has canceled the law of 75 percent reservation for the residents of the state in private sector jobs by the Haryana government. Faridabad Industrial Association and others had filed a petition in the High Court. The petition said that in the private sector, people are selected according to their qualifications and skills. How will industries be able to progress if the right to choose employees is taken away from employers?

Haryana government's decision of 75 percent reservation is injustice to the deserving people. This law is a violation of the constitutional rights of the youth who are free to work in any part of India on the basis of their education and qualification. The petitioner said that this law is an attempt to start the system of getting a job in the private sector on the basis of residence instead of qualification. If this happens, a situation of anarchy will arise regarding employment in the private sector in Haryana.

This law will also hamper the growth of the private sector and may also lead to migration of industries from the state. The petitioner said that this law is actually a violation of the rights of skilled youth. The Act implemented on March 2, 2021 and the notification dated November 6, 2021 to reserve 75 percent jobs are against the provisions of the Constitution, sovereignty. The petition demanded complete rejection of the Employment Act 2020.

The Haryana government had enacted the State Employment of Local Candidates Act 2020. There was a provision for 75 percent reservation. On Friday, the High Court has declared all the petitions filed against this law as valid and has completely rejected this law of the Haryana Government and ordered its repeal. Earlier, the High Court had banned this law till now.
