RAW: Senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha becomes new chief of RAW, will replace Samant Goyal

Ravi Sinha will replace Samant Kumar Goel, whose tenure as RAW chief ends on June 30.

The Union Cabinet has approved the appointment of senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha as the new Chief of the country's intelligence agency RAW (Research & Analysis Wing). Ravi Sinha will replace Samant Kumar Goel, whose tenure as RAW chief ends on June 30. Ravi Sinha's tenure will be for two years. Ravi Sinha is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Sinha's name.

Ravi Sinha is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. Before Ravi Sinha, Samant Goyal's tenure as RAW Chief was full of many achievements. The Balakot airstrike was carried out in Pakistan as soon as Samant Goyal was the RAW chief. Also, Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir.
