Former Congress President and former MP Rahul Gandhi reached Manipur on Thursday. While going from here to Imphal, the police stopped his convoy on the way. According to information, Rahul's convoy has been stopped in Bishnupur district, about 20 km before Imphal. Police is not allowing them to go ahead in view of incidents of violence and arson in the area.
Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal told that Rahul Gandhi's convoy has been stopped by the police near Bishnupur. Police says they are not in a position to give us permission. People stand on both sides of the road to greet Rahul Gandhi. We are not able to understand why they have stopped us?
At the same time, a statement was also issued by the police. The media report quoted Vishnupur SP as saying that the situation in the area is worrisome.
