Rahul Gandhi ended his trip in Washington as part of a six-day three-city tour of the US.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi told the Indian-American community in Washington that there is a battle going on in India at the moment between two different ideologies and expressed confidence that all would be willing to "provide an alternative" approach to the ruling BJP's approach to the country. Opposition parties will join hands. We are fully capable of defeating the BJP, he said.

Rahul said that when he meets leaders of non-Congress opposition parties, he always stresses that 'we must fight together'. "Many people in the media like to show BJP and RSS more important than reality but look at the Himachal and Karnataka elections," Gandhi said at a function organized in his honor here. We will also do well in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. All the opposition parties are holding talks and these talks are progressing very effectively, he said.

Rahul said, there is Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a peaceful, non-violent and humble living, where Sarva Dharma Sambhav is important and on the other side is the divisive arrogance, unscientific aggressiveness of the RSS. I see victory in Gandhi's thinking.
