A train derailed on Saturday morning near Zamania station on Howrah main rail line. Due to this, the operation of trains on this section was affected for about two hours. Archana Express, Magadh Express, and Lokmanya Tilak Express had to be stopped at different stations due to this. The track was cleared after the rescue team arrived from DDU Junction. Regarding the accident, railway sources said that from Patna's side, the goods train was going towards Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (Mughalsarai) carrying a rake of railway track. In this sequence, this train derailed near Zamania railway station. Due to this, the operation of trains in both the up and down lines was stopped for about two hours. After getting the information about this, the team of officers who reached Zamania from DDU hurriedly put the coach on the track and then the train operation started. During this, the operation of trains was stalled for about one and a half hours on both the up and down tracks.

In relation to the incident, it was told that after the down line was cleared, the Dadar Gauhati Express stationed at Zamania opened at 10:05 am and the Magadha Express standing at Dhina was dispatched behind it. Whereas Pune-Patna parked in Dildarnagar in the up line was also dispatched as soon as the track was empty.
