AAP MP Sanjay Singh, accused in the Delhi liquor scam case, was produced in Rouse Avenue Court today. ED demanded five-day remand of Sanjay Singh in the court, but the court approved three-day remand. Now you MP will remain in ED remand till 13th October. ED said in the court that there is evidence of demanding bribe and not of taking bribe. Bribe was demanded for liquor license.

Earlier, after arresting Sanjay Singh, ED had produced him in the court. From where the court had sent the MP on ED remand for five days. While Singh was interrogated during remand, on the other hand his close relatives were issued summons and called for questioning. ED issued summons to Vivek Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra and interrogated them. On the other hand, thousands of Sanjay Singh's supporters are protesting outside the court.

The arrested Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was sent to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate till October 10. ED had sought 10 days' custody in the case. However, the court raised many questions before the ED during the hearing and after that gave remand for only five days.

Last Thursday, Sanjay Singh was produced before Special Judge MK Nagpal in Rouse Avenue Court under tight security. ED had sought 10-day remand of Sanjay Singh saying that he is completely involved in the case. ED's lawyer had said that many documents have been recovered from Sanjay's house. A remand of 10 days should be accepted to interrogate the witnesses and other accused face to face. The court questioned the ED that the case is quite old and if you had evidence then why was there so much delay in arrest.

The court had asked the ED a question, did you take possession of the phone? When the ED lawyer replied in the affirmative, the court had said that when you have the phone, then what is the need to confront the accused face to face with it? You can extract the data anyway. If there is evidence then why the delay in arrest. ED lawyer said that the arrest was made on the basis of statements of witnesses. The statements of the witnesses have just been taken and they have become government witnesses. Witness Dinesh Arora is close to Sanjay Singh. ED has raided 239 places in the case. It is alleged that a transaction worth two crores took place at Sanjay's house twice. Sanjay's employee Sarvesh has taken the money. Data has been found from Sanjay Singh's phone.
