The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for three weeks. Israel has intensified attacks in Gaza to free its hostages from Hamas's occupation. Meanwhile, the government in Singapore has issued a warning for foreigners living in the country. Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has said that foreigners living and working in the country should not use it as a platform to pursue their political objectives.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) gave this warning through a Facebook post. In this, the ministry wrote, 'In view of the increasing tensions between Israel and Hamas, it is important that we remain calm and do not allow these external incidents to affect racial and religious harmony and peace in Singapore.'
Foreigners in Singapore are also asked not to support foreign politics in any way, including public display of materials such as banners, flags and posters. They have also been asked not to make any post or statement in person or online that may incite sentiments which may result in violence. Doing so is an offense and punishable under Singapore law. Such offenders may be banned from working in Singapore.
Along with this, the Singapore government has also advised donors to help the victims of conflict in Gaza. The government has said that people who want to help conflict victims should only use official channels such as the Singapore Red Cross or the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation. Let us tell you that earlier in October, the Singapore Government had announced to provide US $ 219,073 for relief work through the Singapore Red Cross for the victims in the Palestinian area of Gaza Strip.
Manpower Ministry, Home Ministry and Internal Security Department have also given a joint advice in this regard. It said Singapore has adopted a zero-tolerance approach against extremism, violence and terrorism. We will stick to this in future also.
