Former minister Swami Prasad Maurya has filed a defamation claim against Noida Police Commissioner Alok Kumar.

Tyagi Case: In the case of abusive and alleged BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi, Samajwadi Party leader and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya has filed a defamation claim against Noida Police Commissioner Alok Kumar. He has sent a defamation notice of Rs 11 crore 50 lakh to the police commissioner. Swami Prasad Maurya has accused the police commissioner of defaming the allegations in the Srikant Tyagi case without investigation.

Maurya said, whether I know Shrikant Tyagi or not, before the BJP should tell, how did Tyagi's photo with their leaders come? Maurya further said, I myself was issued the pass of the assembly today, how can I give it to someone else, that too the pass of 2022. He said that if Shrikant had the pass of 2023, then BJP should answer it.

What was the whole matter?

Swami Prasad said, it was not Shrikant Tyagi but the police commissioner who raised my name. My support base has increased. BJP is scared of this and for this reason my name is being tossed again and again. The video of Shrikant Tyagi abusing a woman on August 5 went viral. The matter caught fire as soon as the video went viral on social media. After this the police registered the case. Srikant Tyagi had absconded since the case was registered in the police station. Eventually he was arrested from Meerut.
