TMC leader Kunal Ghosh addresses Bangladesh issue, accuses BJP of political exploitation, and urges the Central government to take immediate action.

In a strong statement addressing the ongoing concerns surrounding Bangladesh, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh has criticized the Central government for its alleged inaction. Ghosh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of exploiting religious sentiments in West Bengal while staying silent on critical issues concerning Bangladesh.

Speaking after a significant rally organized by Nagendra Math and Nagendra Mission in collaboration with the Bangla Citizens Forum, Ghosh outlined the resolutions adopted at the meeting. He emphasized the importance of conveying the sentiments of the people of West Bengal to the Central government, highlighting the need for urgent and effective action.

Massive Rally Calls for Action

The rally, which saw substantial participation from citizens and local leaders, was held to address the perceived lack of response from the Central government on issues related to Bangladesh. Ghosh stressed that the state government had no jurisdiction over international matters, asserting that it was the Centre’s responsibility to act decisively.

“The people of West Bengal are deeply concerned about the situation in Bangladesh, but the Central government remains silent,” Ghosh stated. “It is their duty to address these issues, yet they have chosen to ignore the sentiments of the people.”

Resolution to Communicate with the Governor

During the rally, a resolution was passed to meet with the Governor of West Bengal. The participants urged the Governor to act as a mediator and communicate their concerns to the Central government. Ghosh confirmed that the Governor had agreed to convey these sentiments, marking an important step in escalating the matter to the national level.

“We met the Governor, and he assured us that he would communicate our concerns to the Central government,” Ghosh said. “This is a crucial move to ensure that the voices of the people are heard in New Delhi.”

Accusations Against BJP

Ghosh did not hold back in his criticism of the BJP, accusing the party of using religion as a political tool in West Bengal. He alleged that the BJP was manipulating public sentiment concerning the situation in Bangladesh to further its own political agenda.

“The BJP is playing politics over religion in West Bengal,” Ghosh remarked. “Instead of addressing the real issues, they are misusing the people’s sentiments about Bangladesh to divide and polarize the state.”

He further accused the BJP of maintaining a “total mum” on the Bangladesh issue, questioning their commitment to addressing cross-border concerns and maintaining diplomatic relations.

Central Government’s Inaction

Ghosh’s sharp critique extended to the Centre’s lack of prompt action. He called for immediate and effective steps to resolve the concerns surrounding Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for diplomatic and strategic intervention.

“What is the Central government doing about the Bangladesh issue?” Ghosh questioned. “Their silence speaks volumes. They need to step up and take responsibility for addressing these matters with urgency and efficiency.”

Public Sentiment and Community Impact

The rally highlighted the growing concern among citizens of West Bengal over the perceived instability and unrest related to Bangladesh. Community leaders and participants voiced their worries about the implications for regional harmony and the socio-political fabric of the state.

“The people are looking to the Central government for leadership,” said a rally attendee. “We want assurance that the concerns of West Bengal are being taken seriously.”

Calls for Accountability

Ghosh concluded his address by urging the Central government to prioritize the sentiments of the people and take tangible steps to address the issues at hand. He called for transparency and accountability, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue and action.

“This is not just a political issue; it is about the well-being and sentiments of the people of West Bengal,” Ghosh stated. “The Centre must act, not just for the state, but for the country as a whole.”

The developments from the rally and subsequent meeting with the Governor reflect the growing demand for clarity and action from the Central government. As the issue gains momentum, all eyes are now on the Centre to see how it will respond to the concerns raised by the people of West Bengal and their leaders.
