Sinha requested Bose to exempt him from appearing during the day and to give him an appointment 'some other day'. An officer gave this information.

The officer said that Sinha is not surviving. They have asked for exemption only for today. He has requested the Governor to give him time on some other day. Bose had called Sinha to the Raj Bhavan at 2 pm on Saturday to brief him about the violence in the state and the steps taken by the state government to control the situation.

Earlier, CV Anand Bose visited the violence affected area during nomination panchayat elections. After visiting South 24 Parganas, he said that he himself came here and visited the violence affected area, listened to the people. I am distressed by the incident that happened. This is not tolerable at all. The Calcutta High Court gave a verdict. As a governor, I also have some responsibilities, I and all of us have to protect the constitution.

At the same time, after visiting Bhangor on Friday, the Governor had said that steps should be taken to end political violence. He had assured that the culprits would be permanently silenced and brought to justice. After talking to local residents and senior police officers, Bose had said that violence would not be tolerated.

About 74,000 candidates are in the fray for Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats. More than five crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise for the three-tier panchayat elections in the state.

I have very good working relations with Bengal government: Bose

Meanwhile, the Governor of West Bengal said that he has an excellent working relationship with the Mamata Banerjee government despite agreeing and disagreeing. Sensitive issues have been discussed between him and the state government, but every time they respect each other. Bose said that the primary goal is the welfare of the people of West Bengal and he never faced any hindrance from the state government.
