After all the leaks, the Threads app has finally been launched. Threads is a text-based social media app that competes directly with Elon Musk's Twitter. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has launched the app. Threads has been developed by the Instagram team itself. Real time feed will also be available in Threads. The features and interface of Threads are very similar to Twitter.

Blue tick will also be available with Threads

Threads has now been made available in India as well. Threads can be downloaded from Google Play-Store. If you already have blue tick on Instagram i.e. if your Instagram account is already verified then Threads account will be verified automatically. You can also download Threads for free from Apple's App Store. In Threads, you can login with your Instagram ID.

How to use Threads

Meta's Instagram app is a photo-sharing multimedia platform, while Threads is a text-based social media platform similar to Twitter. If you have used Twitter then you will have no problem with Threads. It is very much like the old Twitter version.
In Threads, you can post up to 500 characters that can include web links, photos (up to 10 photos at a time), and videos of up to one minute. You can also block and follow someone in Threads. If you have blocked someone on Instagram, they will remain blocked on Threads as well. GIFS support and "close friend" are currently not supported in Threads. Apart from this, there is no feature of direct messaging at the moment.
