Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu accuses Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting Sikhs and misrepresenting religious symbols abroad, raising concerns over his statements.

In a fiery statement, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has leveled serious allegations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of disrespecting the Sikh community and promoting divisive rhetoric both in India and abroad. The comments come amid rising political tensions and ongoing debates about the treatment of religious minorities in India.

Speaking at a public event in Patna, Bittu launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, claiming that the Congress leader is attempting to ‘break a religion’ by making inflammatory remarks about Sikh customs. Bittu referred specifically to Gandhi’s alleged comments made abroad, where, according to Bittu, Gandhi stated that wearing traditional Sikh symbols such as the “kada” and “turban” was not allowed in India.

Accusations of Misrepresentation and Insult

Ravneet Singh Bittu did not mince words when addressing the audience. He asserted, “He [Rahul Gandhi] is trying to break a religion and abroad he is saying that wearing a kada, turban is not allowed in India.” The Union Minister further alleged that Gandhi’s remarks amounted to an insult to the Sikh faith and its deeply rooted traditions. Bittu expressed concerns that such statements were sowing division and misrepresenting the realities of India’s diverse religious landscape on an international platform.

The controversy surrounding Gandhi’s statements has reignited memories of past tensions between the Congress party and the Sikh community, particularly in the context of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the military operation at the Golden Temple. Ravneet Singh Bittu did not shy away from drawing parallels between the current situation and historical incidents involving the Congress party and the Sikh community.

Historical Grievances Resurface

Bittu’s comments also referred to the infamous Operation Blue Star in 1984, where the Indian military stormed the Golden Temple in Amritsar, a key religious site for Sikhs. “The Gandhi family under a conspiracy raped our mothers and sisters in the streets... Bullets were fired at the Golden Temple... Thousands of innocent people were killed,” Bittu said, invoking strong emotions from the crowd.

The Union Minister questioned why the Congress party, under the leadership of the Gandhi family, continued to “tease Sikhs” and raise tensions within the community. “Why are they teasing Sikhs? What do they want to do?” he asked, adding that the comments by Rahul Gandhi aligned with the rhetoric of terrorist groups like those led by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a known advocate for Khalistan who resides abroad.

Political Showdown in Parliament

Bittu warned that he would confront Rahul Gandhi directly in the Parliament over these issues. “He is speaking the language of terrorists like Pannun who are sitting abroad. I will speak the same when he is sitting in front of me in the parliament,” Bittu declared. His bold statement indicates that the political fallout from this controversy is far from over and that the issue will likely be a point of contention in the upcoming parliamentary sessions.

As political tensions rise ahead of the next session of Parliament, Ravneet Singh Bittu’s allegations against Rahul Gandhi have added fuel to an already charged atmosphere. His claims of the Congress leader’s misrepresentation of Sikh traditions abroad, and the subsequent comparison to terrorist rhetoric, signal a potential flashpoint in India’s political landscape. The broader Sikh community is expected to closely follow the unfolding developments, especially as these issues are brought to the parliamentary floor.
