Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has received another national honour. Awarded for Best Solid Waste Practices in Smart City Waste Management.
Varanasi has received the award for Best Solid Waste Practices in Smart City Waste Management. The award for the seventh Smart Urbanization 2022 organized by the Smart City Council of India was given in a program organized in Mumbai on Friday. Pratap Padode, Chairman, Smart City Council India presented this award to Dr. D. Vasudevan, Chief General Manager, Varanasi Smart City.
Varanasi has been selected for the Best Solid Waste Practices award out of the 100 Smart Cities of the country. Even before this, Varanasi Smart City has won many awards for its efficient management. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the management of making cities beautiful, clean and accessible to the public is paying off and Varanasi was selected out of 100 smart cities across the country.

, Chief General Manager of Smart City Dr. D. Vasudevan said that behind the awards and awards, there is good strategy and efficient management. For solid waste management, a team of more than six thousand people collects the waste from door to door and takes it to the processing plant since morning. This entire management is supervised from the command center.
At the center, attendance of employees is taken from 130 biometric devices and 433 cameras of 20 garbage houses are also monitored at 174 places. He informed that 202 GPS equipped garbage vehicles are tracked. The 902 volume sensor and other sources measure the amount of waste generated by the city. Which is around 700 tonnes per day.

expressed happiness that this victory belongs to the residents of Kashi. Public Relations Officer Shakambhari Nandan Sonthalia said that Varanasi Smart City has been selected for the award for Best Solid Waste Practices for Waste Management. Varanasi has got this award after tough competition out of 100 smart cities across the country.
He has received the COVID Innovation Award during the corona period
Even before this, Varanasi Smart City has received many awards and accolades, the main one being the Kovid Innovation Award for doing the best work during the Corona period.
