Campaigning for Rampur and Azamgarh seats ended on June 21.

By-elections are to be held on 23 June i.e. tomorrow for the two Lok Sabha seats vacant after the 2022 UP assembly elections. Campaigning for Rampur and Azamgarh seats ended on June 21. In such a situation, the polling parties will leave for voting today. Voting is to be held on both the seats tomorrow. BJP candidate from Azamgarh has fielded Dinesh Lal Yadav, while SP has fielded Dharmendra Yadav and BSP has fielded Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali.

Voting for by-elections in Azamgarh and Rampur tomorrow

By-elections on Azamgarh and Rampur seats will be held on 23 i.e. tomorrow. Polling parties will leave for the polling stations on Wednesday i.e. today to conduct the polls. Along with this, police forces will also leave. The Election Commission has completed all the preparations regarding voting and counting. After polling, the counting of votes will be done on June 26. Regarding the preparations for the elections, the district administration is also taking stock of the preparations by reaching the departure site, so that no disturbance can be created.

Polling parties will leave today

Regarding the preparations for the by-election in Azamgarh, District Magistrate Vishal Bhardwaj and Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya inspected the departure sites. The District Magistrate said that the election program of Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election-2022 is scheduled on 23 June 2022. Polling parties will leave from 8 am on Wednesday. Vishal Bhardwaj further informed that the polling parties of five Legislative Assemblies for Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency will leave from three dispatch places.

These giants are in the field from Azamgarh

In fact, the Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat was vacated by the resignation of Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav. From here now Dharmendra Yadav is in the field. On the other hand, Bhojpuri film star Dinesh Lal Yadav has fielded Nirhua from BJP. Akhilesh Yadav defeated Dinesh Lal Yadav in the 2019 elections. Once again Nirhua is challenging the Samajwadi Party candidate to reach the Lok Sabha. BSP has fielded Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali as its candidate.

BJP and SP clash in Rampur

The Rampur seat was vacated by the resignation of Samajwadi Party's Mohammad Azam Khan. Azam Khan had resigned from the Lok Sabha to contest the 2022 assembly elections. Now from Rampur Lok Sabha seat, the Samajwadi Party has bet on Azam Khan's close aide Asim Raja. Whereas BJP has fielded Ghanshyam Lodhi from Rampur. Ghanshyam Lodhi has also been close to Azam Khan, and joined the BJP only two months before the 2022 assembly elections.
