West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose faced protests in North Bengal on Monday. According to information, when Governor Bose reached North Bengal University (NBU) in Siliguri, he was shown black flags. According to the information received from the sources, the members of Trinamool Congress Student Council showed black flags to the Governor and raised slogans of Go Back. The governor has condemned the incident.

At the same time, Governor Anand Bose will himself assess the situation by visiting the areas affected by the incidents of violence before the Panchayat elections to be held on July 8. Bose, who is on a four-day visit to Darjeeling district, said on Monday, "There have been some atrocities and some violence at various places in West Bengal." I want to assess the situation of Panchayat elections myself. I want to meet and talk to people, survivors of violence and victims. I want to know how the violence affected them.

Let me tell you, at least eight people have died and many have been injured in the violence in West Bengal in the last two weeks. State Election Commissioner (SEC) Rajiv Sinha had met the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Sunday evening. According to sources, apart from Darjeeling, Bose may also visit the violence-affected areas of North Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri and Murshidabad districts. Governor Bose has already visited two violence-affected places in South 24 Parganas district.

Trinamool told the Governor an agent of BJP

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has stepped up its attack on the governor, calling him an agent of the BJP. Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, Governor Anand is doing the brokerage of BJP. They should be shown black flags. He is working out of the governor's office. It will not be tolerated. The Trinamool Congress has been shaken by the governor's visit to the violence-hit areas.

Petition against appointment of Rajeev Sinha as Election Commissioner of Bengal

Here, a public interest litigation was filed in the Calcutta High Court on Monday challenging the appointment of Rajiv Sinha as Election Commissioner in West Bengal. The matter is likely to come up for hearing next week. Sinha was appointed as the Election Commissioner on June 7.
