Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit said some organizations had called for the Kolhapur bandh and members of these organizations gathered at Shivaji Chowk on Wednesday. After their demonstration ended, the crowd began to disperse, but some miscreants started pelting stones, forcing the police to use force. So far 21 people have been detained in this case. At the same time, five people have been detained for posting objectionable posts.
Why there was ruckus in Ahmednagar?
Before Kolhapur, a similar incident of stone pelting took place in Ahmednagar on Tuesday. Two people were injured in the stone-pelting, along with which many vehicles were also damaged. A rally was organized by right-wing organizations on the outskirts of the city. After this some anti-social elements pelted stones. Ahmednagar SP Rakesh Ola told that the rally was over at 12 noon. While people were going back after the rally, anti-social elements started pelting stones at Samanpur village, five km from Sangamner town.
Along with two people, two-three vehicles were also damaged in the attack. As soon as the information about stone pelting was received, a heavy police force also reached the spot. Police force has been deployed in the area due to tension. SP Ola told that there is peace in the area at present. Action will be taken against the accused.
Aurangzeb's poster was waved in the procession
A procession was taken out at Fakirwada in Ahmednagar at 9 am on Sunday. Songs were being played in the procession, on which people were dancing. In this procession, four people were carrying posters of Aurangzeb. A case has been registered against all four of them for inciting religious sentiments and inciting violence.
