A 19-year-old girl, who returned from Dubai at the Kozhikode International Airport, was arrested on charges of smuggling gold.

A young woman was arrested at the international airport in Kerala's Kozhikode for allegedly smuggling two kilograms of gold worth Rs 1 crore. The girl had returned from Dubai on Monday morning. The police officer said that during the search, three packets of gold were recovered from the undergarments of the girl.

The official said that the 19-year-old girl managed to escape from the sight of the officials of the Customs Department at the airport. But on the basis of a tip-off, when the police interrogated the 19-year-old girl in the parking area of the terminal, she first denied the allegation, but gold packets were found during the search. The weight of the seized gold is around 1.88 kg, the official said.

Four people died in a car accident

On the other hand, four people died in a road accident in Kerala's Thrissur district on Monday. It has been told that all the victims were going somewhere in a car. During this, his car collided with a private bus in Eravu area. 

A police officer said that all those who lost their lives in the accident are members of the same family. The deceased have been identified as Vincent, Mary, Joseph and Thomas. He said that the accident took place at 12.45 pm on Monday when the car rammed into the bus coming from the opposite direction. Police said that some passengers on the bus also suffered minor injuries in the accident.
