Rafael Nadal, winner of twenty-two Grand Slam titles, immediately congratulated his compatriot Carlos after the final against the Italian Jannik Sinner Alcaraz, who after almost five and a half hours won his second Roland Garros tournament.
“What an incredible Roland Garros final!”, the fourteen-time champion wrote on social media in Paris, honored by the French public and for his second Grand Slam of the season two weeks ago.
“Congratulations Carlos Alcaraz!” added the message accompanied by an emoticon of a trophy and a strong arm written by Rafael Nadal, who also congratulated the Italian Jannik Sinner, finalist in the tournament and world number one. “Congratulations also to Jannik Sinner for a great battle,” he said with the applause emoji.
Alcaraz won his fifth Grand Slam in a dramatic final that lasted five hours and 29 minutes in five sets (4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3) and 7-6(2); it was his second trophy in Paris after the one he won last year and which adds the two at Wimbledon and a US Open.
