Argentine footballer Cristian Nahuel "Perrit" Barrios, from San Lorenzo de Almagro and on loan to Barracas Central, was arrested by police on Sunday after a fight during a neighborhood tournament match that ended with gunfire and several injuries.

According to police sources, Barrios, 27, was arrested for threats and abusing a firearm after a fight in which he and others were wounded by gunshots.

According to information from TyC Sports, the professional soccer player was at the scene to watch an amateur match in which his cousin participated.

According to the police report, the incident occurred during the neighborhood sports tournament in Dock Sud, in the municipality of Avellaneda, on the southern outskirts of Buenos Aires, there was a confrontation between two players of the teams, one of them identified, precisely, as 'Santi' Barrios, the cousin of 'Perrito'.

According to police sources, 'Perrito' pulled out a firearm and fired several shots, as a result of which Leila García, 24, referee of the tournament, was hit with four gunshot wounds.

Pablo Godoy, 30 years old, who has two gunshot wounds, and 'Perrito' himself with a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

All three were admitted to the Fiorito Hospital.

The Barracas Central player remains hospitalized under police guard and will be transferred to court on Monday to give a statement.
