National teams classified to the 2026 World Cup
10 national teams have now secured their spots at the next World Cup. There are still 38 tickets left.
The 2026 World Cup will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. By decision of FIFA, this competition went from having 32 qualifiers to 48. With just over a year left until the start of the World Cup, 10 teams have already qualified for the World Cup.
On this FIFA date in June, a pair of teams secured their tickets to the 2026 World Cup. After drawing against the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan earned its first ticket to a World Cup.
Like Uzbekistan, Jordan joins as another debutant in the 2026 World Cup. Both teams will represent Asian football along with South Korea, another of the teams that secured their spot in this double date. Iran had already had its ticket several months ago.
From Oceania, the only team qualified, so far, is New Zealand. The 2026 World Cup will be the third World Cup for the New Zealand team, after their participations in 1982 and 2010.
Another of the qualifiers is Argentina. La Albiceleste can already guarantee that they will fight to defend their title at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Argentina completely dominated the South American qualifiers and, so far, are the only CONMEBOL representative to have entered this competition.
These seven countries are joined by the already known cases of the United States, Mexico, and Canada. These three teams earned their places in the 2026 World Cup by being the host countries of this competition. CONCACAF has not yet announced the first qualifier to have earned their ticket on the field. The qualifiers are about to begin.
