Gujarat Election 2022: After the announcement of the date of assembly elections in Gujarat, the stir has intensified. After his displeasure, he is seen leaving the party. Where on the one hand Indranil Rajguru, a former member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, has left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Congress. On the other hand, Jai Narayan Vyas, who was the Health Minister in the BJP government in Gujarat, has resigned from the party.
After the resignation of Jai Narayan Vyas, many types of speculations are being made. If reports are to be believed, he may soon join the Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party. This is being said because Vyas has been seen close to both the parties in the past. This time the battle of Gujarat seems to be getting interesting. Apart from the Congress and the BJP, this time in the Gujarat Assembly elections , the Aam Aadmi Party is also in the fray, due to whose activism, a triangular contest is being expected in Gujarat. Let us discuss here that Jai Narayan Vyas, the former Health Minister of Gujarat, has served as a minister in the state government from 2007 to 2012. For a long time, the BJP was not giving him the price.
BJP eyeing seventh consecutive victory
The BJP will face the anti-incumbency wave in the assembly elections to be held in Gujarat. Also, apart from the traditional rival Congress, the BJP will have to compete with the aggressively fielded Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in this election. It is noteworthy that Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Let us know about the strength and weakness of BJP.
BJP's strength
The BJP had to face the anger of the Patidar community in the 2017 elections due to the agitation over the reservation, so it is now counting on its reach to the Patidars. The decision to make Bhupendra Patel the chief minister in September last year and bring in Hardik Patel, the leader of the reservation movement, may work in favor of the party.
The ruling BJP is relying on the issues of Hindutva, development and rapid progress thanks to the "double engine". Shah is monitoring the BJP's election preparations. He is also called the chief strategist of BJP.
Weaknesses of BJP
The BJP lacks a strong local leader who can fill Prime Minister Modi's place. Since 2014, after Modi became the Prime Minister, there have been three Chief Ministers in Gujarat including the current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Modi was the Chief Minister for 13 years.
Apart from facing corruption charges leveled against the state government by AAP and Congress, BJP may also have to face public on issues like inflation, unemployment and economic crisis.
