The debate has started once again against the decision of the Central Government to abolish Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Many petitions have been filed in different courts in this matter. Now on Friday the Supreme Court has said that it will consider listing the petitions challenging the decision to abrogate Article 370. For this, senior advocate Raju Ramachandran had demanded. On this, Chief Justice Justice DY Chandrachud said, 'Okay, I will take a decision on it.'

Ramachandran said that a demand was also made in this matter in December 2022. On this again the Chief Justice said, 'We will consider and give a date.' Apart from Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha, Justice JB Pardiwala were also included in the bench hearing the case.

Granted three weeks time to file reply, the central government told the Supreme Court on Friday that the issue of alleged non-functioning statutory panels in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Human Rights Commission, is under consideration. The government has sought three weeks' time from the court to apprise it of the developments. The court has approved it. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala took note of the submissions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the issue raised in the PIL was being considered at the "appropriate stage". The apex court also directed Pune-based advocate Asim Suhas Sarode to be impleaded in the PILs in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
