Tragedy struck in Siwan as four individuals lost their lives in a devastating train accident near Mairwa station on the Siwan-Gorakhpur railway section. Among the deceased are two children and two women, who were returning home after harvesting wheat when the unfortunate incident occurred near the Lakshmi railway line.
Reports suggest that while crossing the railway track, two children were initially struck by the train. In a desperate attempt to rescue them, the two women accompanying them also got caught in the path of the oncoming train, resulting in the tragic demise of all four individuals. The incident unfolded swiftly due to the sudden arrival of trains on both tracks, leading to chaos and despair among witnesses.
The victims, hailing from Lakshmipur village, were part of the same family and were on their way back home after completing the wheat harvest. Identified as Mrs. Devi (32), Dilbahar Kumar, Khushi Kumari, and Neetu Devi, the deceased were residents of Sumerpur village in Siwan. Railway Police swiftly responded to the scene and commenced an investigation into the heartbreaking incident, which has left the community in mourning.
