Car wash workers commemorate first anniversary of ICE raids in Los Angeles
One year after ICE raids intensified in Southern California, car wash workers and their families demand justice and support
Car wash workers commemorated this Monday the first anniversary of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles.
The employees, accompanied by family members and advocates from the Center for Car Wash Workers (CLEAN), held a press conference at the Crenshaw Imperial Car to share their experiences following the immigration operations, which intensified on June 6, 2025.
“They took my husband from work, held him for days without a phone call or a lawyer, forced him to sign his own deportation and sent him to Mexico,” declared Noemí, wife of one of the workers affected in the immigration operations.
