Trump receives criticism from Newsom for trying to redistribute the districts of the congress
In a letter, the governor of California urged President Trump to abandon his redistricting plans, or California would follow suit.
The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, urged the President of the United States, Donald Trump, or desist from his plans for redistricting in Congress of the United States, or the same would be done in the Golden State to stop an advance by Republican legislators.
Newsom, along with legislators from the Texas Democratic Party, asked Republicans to desist from the attempt and thus avoid a confrontation between the two parties that spreads to other state legislatures.
Newsom's request comes as Texas Republicans failed again on Monday in their attempt to approve new congressional districts, as Trump has hoped.
