After House Republicans voted Thursday morning in favor of the massive package of tax and federal spending cuts, as well as increased funding for the Pentagon and border security, former President Joe Biden spoke out.

Biden called the Trump administration's sweeping fiscal and budget package, approved Thursday by Congress, “cruel,” saying it includes “drastic” cuts to public health.

“The working class deserves better,” the Democratic politician wrote on the social network X, shortly after the Republican-majority House of Representatives gave its final approval to the budget.

“The Republican budget bill is not only reckless, but also cruel,” Biden stressed, who warned that the fiscal package “drastically cuts Medicaid and deprives millions of Americans of health care.”

The The former president denounced that the project “will close rural hospitals and reduce food assistance for veterans and seniors,” in addition to causing an increase in energy bills.

According to Biden, the law promoted by Trump will increase the public deficit by $4 trillion dollars and “all this to grant a huge tax exemption to billionaires.”

The package includes significant tax reductions, cuts in social programs, an increase in spending on defense and border security, as well as new taxes on remittances and renewable energy.

Despite the reluctance of some Republican congressmen, the House of Representatives finally approved Trump's budget on Thursday, which the president will sign into law this Friday, coinciding with the celebration of Independence Day.

Trump assured that his package of measures will focus on three of the most popular policies of the Republican Party: addressing border security, strengthening the armed forces, and granting tax cuts.
