13,000 chargers sold at TJ Maxx and Marshalls recalled due to potential risk
Isla Rae brand wireless chargers recalled due to potential explosion risk during use
Recently, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission informed American consumers about the recall of at least 13,000 wireless chargers sold at retail chains such as TJ Maxx and Marshalls due to a potential risk.
According to the agency, the wireless chargers Isla Rae brand magnetic chargers were recalled due to a potential risk of "explosion during use," which experts say could expose users to fire and burn hazards. The report also details that these chargers were sold in various colors at retail stores between 2024 and 2025 for around $15. It was also revealed that 7,000 of them were distributed in Canada. The Commission stated in a press release: "Do not throw this recalled lithium-ion battery or device in the trash, in the general recycling stream (eg, street-level or curbside recycling bins), or in the used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores." They explained that these types of devices require a completely different disposal method due to the fire risk. “Your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center may accept this recalled lithium-ion battery or device for disposal,” the agency added.
So far, no injuries related to the device have been reported. However, the manufacturer indicated that the affected chargers being recalled belong to model number “RM5PBM, which can be found on the side of the charger, below where it says 5000 mAh 3.7V.”
