Polestar 4 now available for reservation in the USA from $57,800
After several delays caused by trade tensions between China and the United States, the Polestar 4 is finally entering the US market.

For over a year, electric mobility fans in the United States have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Polestar 4. Despite being presented worldwide in 2023 and marketed in several countries since then, this compact SUV with an avant-garde design had not yet landed on the US market. Now, the wait is over.

Polestar has officially announced that its long-awaited 2026 Model 4 is now available for order in the United States. With this, the Swedish firm specializing in electric vehicles takes an important step towards regaining prominence in a market that has been complex for geopolitical and logistical reasons.

Reservations for the Polestar 4 can be made now through the brand's official website or at any of its dealerships in the country. However, the vehicles are not yet physically located in the United States.
They will be shipped from the production plant in Busan, South Korea, a strategic decision to avoid the high tariffs currently applied to vehicles assembled in China.
The entry price for this model starts at $57,800 for the single-engine version. Meanwhile, the higher-performance dual-engine variant will have a starting price of $64,300. Polestar has reported that the first deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2025.
An electric SUV with two versions and ample performance
The Polestar 4 is offered in two engine configurations. On the one hand, the single-engine version delivers 272 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque, ideal for those looking for a balance between efficiency and agile driving.
On the other hand, the dual-engine version raises performance to 544 horsepower and 506 lb-ft of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, figures that place it among the most powerful electric SUVs in its segment.
Both versions are equipped with a 94.0 kWh battery. Under ideal conditions, the estimated range for the single-motor variant reaches 385 miles per charge. In the most powerful version, equipped with all-wheel drive, the range drops slightly to 367 miles.
In addition, the Polestar 4 features compatibility for direct current (DC) fast charging, supporting powers of up to 200 kW. With this system, it is possible to recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, which is extremely convenient for those planning long trips.
An interior designed for comfort and functionality
The cabin of the Polestar 4 has been designed to offer a comfortable and technologically advanced experience. Although it is a compact SUV, it surprises with its interior spaciousness. It can carry up to five passengers with generous legroom, especially in the second row.
The cargo area is also notable: the main trunk offers 18.57 cubic feet of capacity, and folding down the rear seats expands it to 54 cubic feet. Added to this is a small 0.57 cubic foot front compartment, ideal for storing small items or charging cables.
In terms of driver assistance and safety features, the model includes several advanced features as standard.
These include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, and available adaptive cruise control that includes a hands-free driving mode.
Strategic manufacturing: from China to South Korea
Originally a performance division within Volvo, Polestar has evolved in recent years to establish itself as an independent brand focused exclusively on electric vehicles.
Although it is headquartered in Sweden, the majority of its production depends on the industrial plants of its parent company, Geely, located in China.
This situation became problematic in the US market due to the increase in tariffs imposed on vehicles imported from China, first during the Donald Trump administration and then maintained by subsequent governments, including Trump's new term. Polestar was one of the brands most affected.
To circumvent this trade barrier, Polestar made the decision to move production of the Model 4 to South Korea, specifically to the Busan plant, which has allowed it to avoid the 25% tariff that still applies to cars from China.
Polestar's expansion strategy does not end with this launch.More models are already on the horizon, including a possible Polestar 5, which aims to compete in the luxury electric sedan segment.
