Kraft Heinz announces its separation into two corporate entities
According to Miguel Patricio, CEO of Kraft Heinz, the complexity of our current structure makes it difficult to allocate capital effectively.
This week, the multinational company Kraft Heinz announced the separation of its company into two corporations, which will be listed individually on the stock exchange, focusing on different products and brands.
In this regard, Miguel Patricio, CEO of Kraft Heinz, said in a statement that “Kraft Heinz brands are iconic and appreciated, but the complexity of our current structure makes it difficult to effectively allocate capital, prioritize initiatives, and grow in our most promising areas,” he commented.
“By separating into two companies, we can allocate the appropriate attention and resources to realize the potential of each brand and drive better performance and long-term value creation for shareholders,” Patricio highlighted.
Both companies are expected to begin separate production by the middle of next year. Although the merger at the time helped reduce expenses and increase profits, in recent years the company's sales have fallen by up to 1.9%, so the decision seeks to consolidate the products in the market again and increase revenue.
