Due to the escalation of the war between Israel and Iran that has been going on for a week and the possibility that the United States could carry out a military operation in the Islamic nation, United and American Airlines announced the temporary suspension of their flights to the Middle East.

“Due to the conflict in the region, United’s daily flights between Newark, New Jersey, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates are suspended,” the letter stated.

Regarding American Airlines, after the last flight departed for the Qatari capital, the company confirmed that its daily flights from Philadelphia to Doha, Qatar, will be suspended until at least June 22.

“We will continue to monitor the situation, prioritize safety, and adapt our operations as needed,” the airline said, inviting passengers who had previously purchased tickets to fly during the now-restricted period to get in touch and reschedule their departures as soon as possible.

Previously, Air France, a French airline; KLM, a company based in the Netherlands; and Air Canada, whose main office is located in Montreal, have suspended their flights to cities such as Dubai and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It should be noted that Ben Gurion International Airport, located in Tel Aviv, Israel, is closed by order of its government and will remain so until at least August 31.

This measure makes it impossible for citizens interested in leaving the Jewish nation or those who for some reason were planning to arrive, to leave.

A similar situation is being experienced in Tehran, Iran, where nervousness prevails that a violent US military operation could take place.
