Extreme Heat and Rain: This Week's Weather Forecast for Southern California
A round of Santa Ana winds is favoring a warming trend in the region starting this Tuesday; some rain is forecast for next week
Sudden weather changes are expected this week in Southern California, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS).
A high-pressure system is expected to move in starting this Tuesday, February 3, which will raise temperatures to Near-record levels for this time of year, but conditions will change drastically with significant cooling and the possibility of some rain. In a report, the NWS said the warming trend begins this Tuesday, influenced by a round of Santa Ana winds, before thermometers register temperatures above 80°F in most of the region on Wednesday, and up to 90°F in some areas.
