Russia confirms another round of negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi
New negotiations to find a solution to the conflict in Ukraine will take place on Wednesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 5, 2026
Russia has confirmed that there will be a second round of negotiations with Kyiv and Washington in Abu Dhabi. They will take place specifically on Wednesday, February 4, and Thursday, February 5, 2026. “They were initially scheduled for last Sunday, but further coordination of the three parties’ schedules was needed,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained to reporters. “Now, the second round will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (…) in Abu Dhabi,” Peskov added. This confirmed the information anticipated a day earlier by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
US Pressure to End the Conflict
The talks will be held shortly before the fourth anniversary of the start of the Russian offensive in Ukrainian territory.
It is expected that in this round the parties will focus on the crucial issue of territory, with neither side having shown any signs of progress so far.
The United States is pressing to end a war that has caused tens of thousands of casualties and forced millions of people to flee their homes. The conflict has also led to the destruction of infrastructure across much of eastern and southern Ukraine.
