Bihar Flood LIVE Updates Due to floods, a population of 45 lakhs of 110 blocks of 14 districts of Bihar is facing floods. More than 26 thousand people are living in the camps running in the flood affected areas. Additional Secretary of Disaster Management Department Ramchandra Do told that the department is alert in view of rising water level of rivers. 1,193 community kitchens are being run, in which seven lakh 71 thousand 380 people eat food every day. Teams of NDRF and SDRF are doing their work in flood affected districts. Three lakh 76 thousand 508 people have been evacuated to safe places. NDRF transported pregnant to hospital
NDRF Commandant Vijay Sinha said that the NDRF team deployed in Darbhanga district late Thursday night was called to assist a pregnant woman trapped in the flood-ravaged Panchobh village in Hanuman Nagar block. The team reached the boat by driving about 10 km in the night and took pregnant Kajal Mishra safely to Hanuman Nagar Primary Health Center. He said that on Friday, a team has been deployed in Amanor block of Saran district. Four teams are working in Saran. On Friday, the NDRF team took more than 600 people to safe places in Saran. Sinha said that till now 8,600 have been saved from floods by running rescue operations in various districts of Bihar.
Flood havoc continues
Neeraj Kumar, resident of Muriyaro village of Angarghat police station in Ujiarpur, Samastipur, and Rambabu Yadav died in Dhabolia village of Hasanpur police station. Here, the teenager died due to drowning in a flood water in Purnei in Madhepura. Here, mother and daughter died of drowning while cleaning cloth in Pranpur of Katihar. Also, the child died in drowning in Kamla Dhar in Ward 8 of Dhaparsia Panchayat of Kadwa police station area of Katihar.
4.5 million people affected by floods
Anjali, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, died in Karhara village of the police station of Madhepur block in Madhubani. Here, Lakshmi Chaurasia of Hardia and Amit Kumar of Kauhaha of Bhargava Panchayat of Sugauli died due to drowning in the river while building a dam in Bangri river of Hardia village of Raxaul block area of East Champaran. Here, after crossing the Indo-Nepal border of Sitamarhi, a young man coming to Bairgania market died due to drowning in the flood waters. At the same time, the woman drowned in Bath Asli Panchayat of Nanpur police station area.
13 killed in Bihar due to drowning in flood
On Friday, 10 people died in north Bihar and three in Bhagalpur due to drowning in the flood waters. According to the information, three died in West Champaran, one in Madhubani, two in East Champaran, two in Sitamarhi, two in Samastipur and one in Madhepura in Bhagalpur and two in Katihar. Two people, including a seven-year-old child in Bettiah, West Champaran and Sajad Qureshi Ahir, resident of Ward No 10 Station Road of Chanpatia Nagar Panchayat, lost their lives.
