Bullet fired outside West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence, constable posted in security injured

He was doing duty at the police kiosk near the CM residence. The bullet fired at 6 am and he was seriously injured. The bullet hit his cheek. The bloodied jawan has been admitted to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

A sensation spread after firing near the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A constable posted there was injured due to firing. The injured constable is named Dinesh Karmakar. He was posted in security outside Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat.

On Thursday morning, he was doing duty at the police kiosk near the CM residence. The bullet fired at 6 am and he was seriously injured. The bullet hit his cheek. The bloodied jawan has been admitted to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

On receiving the news, apart from the police of Kalighat police station, officers of Kolkata Police Headquarters Lal Bazar also reached there. According to the police, Dinesh Karmakar had night duty in the kiosk. He was on since Wednesday night. The accident occurred due to accidentally dropping a bullet from his service revolver at six o'clock on Thursday morning while swapping in duty.

Here, senior officials of Kolkata Police are officially refraining from saying anything about this incident. At the same time, hospital sources say that a lot of blood was coming out of Dinesh's mouth, but now he is out of danger. If his condition improves, he will be shifted to the plastic surgery department of the hospital for surgery.

Apart from taking the statement of other policemen on duty with him in connection with this incident, the investigating officers are also scanning the pictures of CCTV cameras installed around. The police is trying to find out whether the bullet was accidentally or the matter is something else.
