The ECB has said that wicketkeeper batsman Jose Butler will join the team ahead of the three-match ODI series starting at 11 September in Old Tafford, Manchester. The England Cricket Board has issued a press release saying, "England batsman Jose Butler left the bio-safe bubble last evening with his family after the team's win over Australia".

Right-handed batsman Jos Butler scored an unbeaten 77 from 54 balls in the second T20 match. In this innings, he hit 8 fours and 2 sixes. England won the second match on the same innings, while in the first match they were dismissed by 44 runs. He has scored 121 runs in two matches. Tom Button will get an opportunity to open in Butler's absence. Johnny Bairstow will start the innings with him.
