Former Indian cricketer and cricket expert Akash Chopra has tried to pick the Best XI for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Virat Kohli for the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). RCB are scheduled to play their first match on 21 September against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai. The team is preparing fiercely for its first IPL title.
On the other hand, in the beginning of IPL 2020, Virat Kohli can take the field with 11 players. Akash Chopra has done this selection. Akash Chopra has expressed the possibility that Devdutt Padikkal can definitely start the innings with Aaron Finch. However, Parthiv Patel may also be RCB's first choice for the opener, but given domestic cricket figures, RCB may go with Devdutt.
Talking about Devdutt Padikkal's T20 cricket figures, he has scored 580 runs in 12 T20 matches at a strike-rate of 175.75 at an average of 64.44. Akash Chopra has further said that captain Virat Kohli should come to bat at number three, as he is the highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament and No. 3 suits him. He has picked AB de Villiers for number four and Moin Ali at number 5.
At the same time, RCB should give opportunity to Shivam Dubey as an all-rounder at No. 6, while Chris Morris, who joined Royal Challengers Bangalore from Delhi Capitals, is eligible for No. 7, who also bowls well. Washington Sundar should be at number 8, while number 9 will definitely be Yuzvendra Chahal. The pace bowling will have to be commanded by either Umesh Yadav or Mohammad Siraj along with Navdeep Saini.
