KBC won at age 14
KBC Junior came out 19 years ago in 2001, a special edition of KBC, which was attended by Ravi Mohan Saini. At that time, he was just 14 years old. Ravi won the prize money of one crore by answering all 15 questions correctly. In a conversation with the Times of India in 2017, Ravi told that he had won a sum of one crore. After deducting tax, he received Rs 69 lakh after four years, as according to KBC rules, the prize money was given after the age of 18 years.
Joining police service after being influenced by father
Dr. Ravi Mohan Saini's age is currently around 33 years. In May, he joined the post of SP in Porbandar, Gujarat. Earlier, Ravi was posted as DCP in Rajkot City. Ravi is originally from Alwar. His father was in the Navy. Ravi did his schooling from Naval Public School in Visakhapatnam.
In conversation with Indian Express, Dr. Saini told that he did MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College Jaipur. After MBBS, he got selected in civil services during internship. Since the father was in the Navy, he was impressed and chose IPS.
He took the civil services examination in 2012 and 2013, but Dr. Saini was selected in 2014 for the Indian Police Service. He had achieved 461st rank at the all-India level.
KBC has two decades
KBC is completing two decades this year. Amitabh Bachchan is currently shooting for 12 seasons. It is likely to air from next month. KBC started in 2000. Amitabh Bachchan was the first host and the prize money was kept at one crore. Prize money in the second and third seasons was 2 crores. In the fourth season, prize money was kept at one crore, while the jackpot question was introduced for 5 crore.
In the seventh season, the total number of questions was increased from 13 to 15 and the prize money was 7 crores. The number of questions from season 9 was increased to 16 and prize money to Rs 7 crore. All seasons of the show are hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, except for season 3, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
