Skoda Rapid TSI automatic variant launched in India, price starts at just Rs. 9.49 lakhs, know full details of mileage and features

Skoda Auto has launched an automatic trans mission equipped variant of its popular car Rapid in India. The price of which has been fixed at Rs 9.49 lakh. Let me tell you, booking of Rapid 1.0 liter TSI has already started on the official Skoda Auto India website in the country as well as on the website of Skoda Auto India, for a refundable amount of 25,000. The delivery of which will start tomorrow i.e. 18 September.

Engine Options: The new Skoda Rapid AMT gets the same 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine as the current model. Which generates power of 109bhp and torque of 175Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed torque converter AMT gearbox. Let me tell you, this transmission unit is also available with Volkswagen Vento sedan and Polo TSI hatchback. Unlike the old AMT's gearbox, the new one also gets a manual safety shift function and a sport turn.

What will be the mileage: In terms of mileage, this car on gasoline motor gives 16.24kmpl with AMT gearbox and 18.97kmpl on manual transmission. At the same time, the company claims that the top speed of this car is 195 kmph.

Design: The new automatic variants feature quartz cut projector headlamps, a black signature grille, modern crystalline LED, silver clubber alloy wheels, black décor on the B-pillar, window chrome garnish, body color trunk spoiler. While the beige and black color theme is kept standard, the gray and black theme with leather seat cover is given only for the Onex trim.

Speaking to a media website, the company's director Zac Hollis stated that "the refresh rapid TSI range has raised the criteria within the segment with the introduction of a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is a reliable technology that provides dynamic drive." On the other hand, the company announced during a virtual launch on Thursday that it plans to double the number of showrooms in India by 2022 and will open its outlets in 15 new cities in India in future.
