Three bills related to agriculture have been finalized in Parliament today. In the Rajya Sabha, the Agriculture Bill was passed by voice vote amidst heavy uproar by the opposition. After which PM Modi tweeted that today is a big day in India's agricultural history. I congratulate my hard working givers on the passage of important Bills in Parliament. This will not only bring a paradigm shift in the agricultural sector, but it will empower crores of farmers.
With this, PM Modi said that for decades our peasant brothers and sisters were stuck in many types of bonds and they had to face middlemen. The voters have got all these freedom from the Bills passed in Parliament. This will strengthen efforts to double the income of farmers and ensure their prosperity. Our agricultural sector is in urgent need of modern technology, as it will help the toiling farmers. Now with these bills, our farmers will have easy access to future technologies. This will not only increase yields, but will lead to better results. This is a welcome move.
The system of MSP will continue
With this, he said that I have said this before and once again said that the system of MSP (Minimum Support Price) will continue. Government procurement will continue. We are here to serve our farmers. We will make every effort to help the contributors and ensure a better life for their future generations.
It is worth noting that Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had introduced the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Simplification) Bill 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Agreement Bill 2020 in Rajya Sabha. While presenting these bills, he said that these bills are historical and will bring revolutionary changes in the lives of farmers. Through this bill, the farmer will be free to sell his crop at any place at the desired price. These bills will give farmers an opportunity to grow expensive crops.
