Gupteshwar Pandey News: Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey takes voluntary retirement, dismisses speculation about contesting elections

This is big news related to DGP Gupteshwar Pandey of Bihar. He took Voluntary Retirement on Tuesday. He was a 1987 batch Indian Police Service officer. The Home Department has approved his voluntary retirement. It is being speculated that he will now contest the Bihar Assembly Election as a candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, he has ruled out the possibility that Enka has no such intention in the near future. Meanwhile, the state government has given additional charge of DGP to DG Sanjeev Singhal of Fire Service and Home Guards.

The speculation about contesting the assembly elections was rejected

The speculation of him contesting elections after voluntary retirement was bolstered by his meeting with the JDU District President in Buxar recently. There is a discussion that he will contest the assembly elections from any seat in Buxar or Ara district. Even before this, he had tried to contest the Lok Sabha elections by applying VRS in 2009. However, he has clarified that he is not in any political party. Even now there is no such intention at the moment. As far as social service is concerned, they can do so without going into politics.

Officers close to CM Nitish Kumar included

Gupteshwar Pandey will be the first Bihar official to contest the election after taking voluntary retirement from the post of DGP. While DGP, he was considered a close officer of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (CM Nitish Kumar).

Sushant also came to the national discussion regarding the matter

Gupteshwar Pandey became DGP of Bihar on 31 January 2019. Gupteshwar Pandey's tenure as DGP was till 28 February 2021. In recent times, he remained in the discussion about his many notable works. He came up for discussion at the national level, mainly in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Gupteshwar Pandey also raised a controversy by questioning Riya's whereabouts when Riya Chakraborty raised a question against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the Sushant case. Later, he had to give cleaning for this too. In the order of the charge-off, Shiv Sena national spokesperson Sanjay Raut accused him of contesting from Shahpur assembly constituency. However, each time he kept breaking the discussions of contesting elections.

Gupteshwar Pandey was an IG in the special branch. He was also the IG and ADG headquarters of AD Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga zones, ADG Wireless and ADG BMP. Gupteshwar Pandey had the image of a controller of crime and a strong administrator in the eyes of the government besides the general public. During the lockdown, he also tried his best on a personal level to encourage the policemen by talking directly to them.

Additional charge of DGP to Singhal

Additional charge of DGP of Bihar has been given to Sanjeev Kumar Singhal, DG of Home Guards. The Home Department released its notification late on Tuesday night. Sanjeev Kumar Singhal, a 1988 batch senior IPS officer, has been working as SP, SSP, DIG, IG, ADG and DG in several districts including Nalanda, home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Singhal is named among the fiery officers of Bihar. It is a matter of discussion that the government will soon make a full-time deployment of Singhal to the post of DGP.
