Many people have been badly affected by the corona virus epidemic and the lockdown implemented to prevent the spread of its infection. Due to disrupted industrial activities, many employees were given reduced salaries, while many lost their jobs. A government scheme can help such people who have lost their jobs in this difficult time. A scheme has been launched by the Employees State Insurance Corporation, namely, Atal Insured Persons Welfare Scheme (ABVKY).
If the nominee's job has gone down due to the Corona crisis under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme, he will be given unemployment allowance. Such people will be provided 50 percent of their salary for three months. This help will be available to those whose jobs have been left between March 24 and December 31 this year.
Significantly, the Employees State Insurance Corporation Board has recently increased the unemployment allowance under this scheme. Earlier it was 25 percent of salary, which has been reduced to 50 percent. This will benefit about 40 lakh employees working in the industrial sector. Also, the board has given relief in the eligibility criteria of the scheme.
Recently, ESIC had also decided to extend the scheme for another year till 30 June 2021. Also, the ESIC Board has given the beneficiaries of another major relief scheme. Earlier the relief amount could be paid 90 days after leaving the job, now this deadline has been reduced to 30 days.
Claim like this
According to ESIC, nominees under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme can directly submit their claim to the branch office of the organization. As per the new terms, instead of sending the claim to the old employer, the relief amount will be paid directly to the insured's bank account, which will provide immediate relief to the beneficiary.
